Description: When our children experience big feelings, it can be challenging for us parents. We might worry that our children are being manipulative, or that they aren’t going to learn how to manage their feelings. These fears often cause us to ignore, silence or punish our children during their emotional moments.

In this talk, Jaclyn Long will provide parents with important information about the role emotions play in the integration of the brain and body. The research she cites can empower parents with deeper insight into the emotional lives of children and can help us make conscious choices about how we respond to our children’s big feelings when they arise.
