In her role as director of Mindful Child & Family Therapy, Jaclyn Long, MFT works with a diverse team of clinicians to provide our community with options for care. As an MFT, Jaclyn’s rate is $200 per 50 minute session. Here are the rates for the therapists on her clinical team:
Rates:
Session lengths and rates vary depending on the specific services provided. Our team collaborates to provide you with caring support. We work together to empower you with effective tools that you and/or your family members can benefit from your entire life. We support children, teens, and adults as well as couples and families.
MCAFT Rates, November 2022 | |
---|---|
Associate AMFT / ACSW / APCC | $170 per 50 min session |
Licensed LMFT / LCSW / LPCC | $200 per 50 min session |
Associate PhD | $200 per 50 min session |
Licensed PhD | $280 per 50 min session |
Insurance Reimbursement:
Our group is “Out of Network” for most insurance companies*. If you would like to submit documentation for insurance reimbursement, we encourage you to please first contact your insurance company to see if your insurance plan offers you reimbursement for “Out of Network” providers. If so, you can submit the “Statement for Insurance Reimbursement” (Superbill) which we will provide for you. You will get an email notification that the “Statement for Insurance Reimbursement” is available in your client portal on the 10th of each month for the previous month. You can download, print and/or submit the “Statement for Insurance Reimbursement” to your insurance company for reimbursement.
“Statement for Insurance Reimbursement” vs. Invoice:
Please note that there is a difference between a “Statement for Insurance Reimbursement” and an Invoice. The “Statement for Insurance Reimbursement” has codes (service / CPT codes, diagnosis code, etc.) on it that the insurance company needs. The invoices, on the other hand, only contain payment information, and will be sent to you at midnight on the evening that your sessions take place. We encourage you to make sure you are submitting the “Statement for Insurance Reimbursement”, not the invoice, to your insurance company to avoid confusion.
No Surprises Act / Good Faith Estimate:
We will provide you with a “Good Faith Estimate” of what the charges could be for psychotherapy services provided to you. This notification is not a contract, but simply an estimate that helps clients become more aware of and informed about the potential costs of therapy, so that there are no surprises.
While it is not possible for a psychotherapist to know, in advance, how many psychotherapy sessions may be necessary or appropriate for a given person, this process provides an estimate of the cost of services provided to you through the end of the calendar year. In our group, our estimates are only good through December 31 of each year, for a maximum period of 12 months. Your total cost of services through December 31 each year will depend upon the number of psychotherapy sessions you attend, your individual circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you. If you continue working with MCAFT after the new year begins, we will send you a new Good Faith Estimate for the next calendar year through December 31.

*We are in network with Kaiser, but please note that Kaiser only covers our licensed therapists, not our Associates. And our licensed therapists tend to be fully booked. If our licensed therapists are booked, here are your options:
1. You can pay out of pocket for your sessions with an Associate Therapist.
2. You can be placed on a waitlist for a Licensed Therapist.
3. As a combination of the above, you can be placed on a waitlist for a Licensed therapist who will be covered by Kaiser insurance, and in the meantime you can work with an Associate Therapist, and pay out of pocket until the Licensed Therapist becomes available.
Giving Back
As Founder & Director of Mindful Child & Family Therapy, Jaclyn Long cares deeply about serving all people in our community, including those in need of support who might not have the financial resources to access it. To this end, we offer low fee rates to 10% of the people we serve. At least 1 out of every 10 clients will receive a low fee rate, based on financial necessity.
In addition, we invite at least 1 out of every 10 participants in our paid groups to participate at low fee, based on financial need. And we offer a FREE Parent Support Group for Parents of Teens on Fridays.
We also believe that mothers are agents of change in their families, and that by supporting the mother, we support children and families as well. As part of an ongoing effort to give back to our community, Jaclyn Long, founded Mind Body Moms in 2014 to offer integrative wellness groups to support mothers in mind, body and spirit. While these groups are offered for a fee in Palo Alto, they are offered at no fee for low-income, Spanish-speaking mothers in East Palo Alto and Half Moon Bay.
In January 2020, Andres Perez from Organizacion Edificando Vidas (OEV) began to oversee the low-income groups for Spanish-speaking moms. The groups for Spanish-speaking moms in East Palo Alto & Half Moon Bay are currently being offered through OEV. Please email aperez@evidas.org with questions.
